Hey all!
Well I know a lot of you loved my series 'Hardly Human' well I'm working on a new installment in the series called "The Fear Smith."
Anywho here's an excerpt for you guys.
Again he felt it, that feeling creeping inside. He shuddered, the fear was already setting in and he was rendered motionless, frozen in place. It wasn’t the sort of suspenseful terror that he felt during those horror flicks his father was so crazy about, no, this was true terror; mind numbing terror. It swept through him, extending from his head to his toes, engulfing him in a torrential downpour of pure fear. The worst part was, he didn’t know what set it off, he never did, it just came unannounced and unexpected. And now…he didn’t know what to do. He had attempted to drown in out before, with music and with reading but neither worked, they only seemed to amplify the crippling effect his fear had on him. He couldn’t help but remember how his grandmother had once told him that insanity ran in the family and he couldn’t help but wonder if he was next in line. He had even considered talking to a shrink but decided against it; his father would have gotten a kick out of that. Usually the feeling would pass after a grueling two or three minutes of him rocking back and forth, head in his hands, but not this time. The feeling remained and after five minutes passed he panicked.
He stood slowly, his stomach reeled but he managed to keep it in check and stumbled to his door, fumbling with the knob. The room was spinning but he made it out into the hall and located his father watching a movie on the couch.
“Dad…” He said, barely recognizing the sound of his own voice that sounded faint and far away, the colors in the room began to swirl until he couldn’t tell one from the other.
The man didn’t look up, he took another step forward.
“Dad help me….” He pleaded feeling the dizziness grow, feeling himself gradually lose his balance.
His father looked up, most likely preparing to yell but he stopped , his eyes wide. He fell off the couch, eyes bulging.
“Stay…stay away from me…” His father babbled, a look of horror on his face.
He didn’t know what was wrong with his father but persisted, taking another step forward.
“Dad…it’s me…I need help…”
“Get away you monster!”
That’s when he caught his reflection in the corner of his eye; in the large mirror on the wall.
What greeted him was the sight of a grotesque and faceless skeletal figure soaked in blood.
“Get away you monster!” The words echoed in his head and he screamed feeling blackness overcome him; the faceless skeleton screamed with him.
Well I hope you enjoyed that! If you want more let me know or email me and I'll send you what I have beyond this point!
